I have seen a few 202s with the black painted roof, I'm guessing this replicates the panorama roof on newer cars or is there another reason to do this?

Also, on Benzworld someone mentioned using black lettering/sign vinyl on their faded B-pillars, I suggested it could also perhaps be used for this roof mod. I would think it comes big enough since they wrap buses with the stuff, but is the color even enough to use and look good on a large area like this? How durable would it be? I love that it's removable. Anyone willing to try this please post results!

yes your right.
it gives a updated look, but again. it won't last, after a while it will look old and boring.

i was going to paint my roof gloss black. but decided to go with vinyl.

cheaper, easier, and can be removed anytime.
