Merzc22, if you add your car's year, engine size and any basics like that to your signature it will help members here to assist you with this and future concerns as there were many differences between the various editions of our cars.

Are both low beams out? What happened when they stopped working, did you have it jumped prior or any work done or did you just turn them on one night and they failed to light?

Did you play around with the wiring when you change the socket?

if you play with the low high switch do they come on briefly?

I've seen my lows go out intermittently when changing from a high beam setting back to low. Invariably playing with the switch fixed it...for now.

Switch or relay problem most likely. I wonder if that infamous miscellaneous relay might be involved.

most likely 1 of 3 things hopefully: combi relay under hood, stalker switch, or under dash connector. if you pull down the driver's lower dash panel, towards the left side there is a rectangular connector (rather large). i've seen these come loose with your simptoms and you just snap it into place. i'd try that first since it cost nothing.

good luck
