I was wondering what your thoughts on mtx's line of new mono block amps was... i was looking at the 801d. they seem pretty affordable and i know mtx is pretty well known. im thinking of putting it with a jl 12wv2- (either d4 or d2) for now.... what do you think??? and would i be better off getting the 2ohm or 4 ohm? im not to knowledgeable of the whole ohm ratings and what would be better. im just running one 12. also i heard mercedes battery runs higher then the standard 12.5 is this correct? thanks a ton!

If you do google search, you will get:
MTX 801D specs:
* 400 watts x 1 at 4 ohms
* 800 watts x 1 at 2 ohms

Which Jl audio are you talking about?
12W?v2
W6? W3?
in any case, I would get dual 4 ohm.

Mercedes alternator produces about 13.9 Volts.

as far as the sub is concerned for now i am prolly going with the 12w3 series for cost reasons... i am looking at the 12w3v2 and it comes in either dual 4 or 2 ohm. so you think i would be better off running the dual 4 over the 2? and you think that amp would be ok with that sub?? thanks a ton!

D4 is a better choice so you can use full potential of your amp.

PG is a better brand than MTX, but again, you have to see the comparison of the actual products.

I have never had any experience with any of those two products you mention.
