The low fluid indicator came on last night and a Pep Boys was on the way home, so I stopped by to pick up some washer fluid. They only had one type and it was the common cheap blue stuff. One thing I noticed is that the blue stuff said it protects "up to 30+ degrees." I am guessing that really means down to 30 degrees. That means it will freeze on the windshield on a cold morning!
What are good alternatives? I have a little bottle of clear stuff from MB that came with the car which you mix with water but it says it is for summer. Has anyone bought the winter stuff? Is it expensive? Are either one of these good/advantageous compared to the blue? I am pretty sure the stealership always filled up the reservoir with blue stuff for the first eight years of this car's life during services.
I am starting to worry about fluid freezing overnight in the lines and nozzles if it gets cold. I would hate for them to get split. It is 70 degrees in ATL but cold is coming.
I was amazed at how the reservoir (which still had some fluid in it) accepted the whole gallon of blue fluid.
