I bought a set of HID lights which were labeled as plug and play. I removed the back covers from the headlights and couldn't quite figure out how the HID lights were plug and play. I emailed the company, and they said that I had to remove the lighting wiring harness and that no additional modifications need be done.

The HID kit includes 2 bixenon bulbs and a harness which consists of two bulb connectors, two ballasts and wiring to connect the ballasts to the bulbs, and the bulbs to each other. At the end are a pair of leads, one red and one black, which end in ring terminals. I presume these are power and ground.

Has anyone removed wiring harness for the headlights? What is involved?

Just take another look at the stock wires and youll realize how easy the set-up is.

Here's a new twist I had never seen before. I order lots of things "through th mail," which now of course really means the net. I like the UPS/FedEx click to check the status of the shipment, and I do it all the time. Shipping charges are fairly standard for the things I get, and always quite reasonable.

Imagine my surprise when I ordered the lights, and checked the shipment status and read scanned out: GUANGZHOU CITY
GUANGDONG PROVINCE, CHINA. I watched the shipment move from PRC to Anchorage, to Kentucky and then to Baltimore. Cool, I thought.

Well when I asked the seller for an RMA, I did not expect to have to send the lights BACK TO CHINA. Also, I would have to be cagey about what the package contained to avoid very expensive duties. I would also have to declare the value at $2 to avoid additional costs.

Something to check when you order accessories.
