Greetings my friends, as this is the month full of retrofits and upgrades, I am about to install the Command 2.0 DX navigation system in my car! It's the same module the ML x163 had onboard!

But because this is a 2DIN unit I need a new wooden console cover... And i don't know if there's any...

I would be greatfull if you had any pics or part numbers or so...

Here's a pic of my interior now...

i do a search on here on double din deck installs ... there has been a couple but with the carbon fiber dashs. it would be pretty much like that except matching of the wood be hard. unless you know sone one with mad skills that can make a replica piece for you .

You need some modification on that part.
Try MBenznl and get some info regarding this.

You need to cut the bottom bit off one and top bit off another in order to surround the COmand unit. It's not an easy job and will look like an eyesore particularly if its a slightly different shade or grain of wood.

that youtube link is an example of a car w/digital climate control, installing it on a car w/the analog dials is a different beast all together, i remember someone doing a pretty good write up on this a while back, its worth a search.

I do have plans to make the wood piece look like one continuous piece. just to clean it up a lil.

@SLAMMEDC

How long did that install take and how much did it cost? Looks good.

Old thread!
took 2 days over the weekend to complete (with all the modifications that had to be done), it was about $2000.
