I believed that you can use your existing bracket. Just transfer it to your amg bumper.

yea my car is a w202.. and im looking to use my stock brackets..but that would mean i'd have to drill holes into the bumper from the outside front..and rebondo it?? cause there's no support frames what so ever inside the aftermarket amg style bumper.. its jus the bumper cover shell, very plain... no mounting areas..no holes..no brackets..no support..
i was thinking about using window weld glue and glue the stock brackets to the inside of the bumper..then i can mount it to the frame of the car.. what do you think? then use clips or custom make some sort of "L" brackets to hold the top corners of the bumper to the frame as well... hrmm
any ideas ?? anyone used a fiberglass bumper before and created their own installation technique?

I think it would be best to post picture of the bumper to let us all know how it looks and maybe someone can help you from there. Giving us words is a bit vague and confusing.

Good luck on the install though. Keep us posted.

BTW, would it happen to be the DuraFlex bumper on eBay?

And to the question about which AMG bumper asked above, he's asking which W202 AMG bumper it comes from. C36 or C43 or the W203 AMG style bumper for 202's.

Make fiberglass brackets using wood or cardboard as a skeleton, use a bolt( I would use a metric size or one thats the same as OEM, just a preference) ....built around the skeleton and cover the bolt and make it sturdy so you can bolt it up and not worry about it spinning in the fiber glass.

I have to fit and adjust my mounts, they are F#$%*D and a bolt is spinning. im going to cut the mounts off , mark them to the proper size, and fit them properly so the bumper looks straight too. Use a metric stainless steel Bolt. Have it fit to my original l brackets that hold my orignal bumper on so i dont need modifactions.

OR

make mounts, but use the original Mounts some how so i can slide the bumper on and off like the original way it came from the factory and the way you removed the front bumper in the first place( by sliding it off on those black tracks).

its a weekend project to repair my whole kit. then I have to prep and repaint.... yea, its alot of fun lol
but it will look good.
