The drivers side mirror on my 98 is all brown. My daughter gets her license next month so I want her to be able to see out of the mirror OK. Can just the glass be replaced or is it a whole assembly replacement? Can i get the glass online somewhere or is it dealer only? Also if just the glass can be replaced how do I do it?

Thanks

i replaced only the mirror glass on my 94. i also was able to find oem glass for my 94 on ebay for 10 bucks plus shipping. so if someone with ur year chimes in and u can change the glass try ebay.

Only the glass needs to be replaced. The only replacements I could find on-line were ones without the auto dimming feature. I'm assuming that since your mirror turned brown (as mine did), it also has the auto-dimming feature. I bought the replacement glass with auto-dim from the dealer for $400.

$400! I found some for $300 online but I don't want to spend $300. Is it OK to replace the dimming one with a non dimming one? So how do you remove the old glass and replace with the new one?

Have you tried a breaker's yard or ebay?

Looks like they have non dimming ones for $20 on ebay. So how do you pop the glass off?
