After market VS OEm headlights VS HID

so my GF mom backed into my car, body shop says it $2000-3300 in damages!!

anyway i need to replace a headlight and a signal and i was thinking about just getting one of those ebay lights. some of them look cool. my concerns are:
quility
fitment issues
dont want the one piece lights( both signal and headlight in one unit)
progectors?
regular?
HID? and quilty and brightness # of the HID's


i would love the combination of After-market, HID with the Projector look.

If you search, there is many threads on the eBay headlights along with HID kits that people use with them. Many have gone with 6000K for the nice white/blue look without loosing too much lumen light output. If you're into more lighting, go with a 4300K-4500K HID kit.
