So, I recently picked up a new Magnaflow polished 4inch dia body resonator to go along with my Magnaflow rear Muffler, it will be replacing the stock Resonator. Any one have any tips for me?

Also I am in the process of making a CAI for my M104. I took 3inch stainless steel pipe, with a slight mandrel bent curve up top(from a borla trans am exhaust.:D )
This routes to the lower bumper. At the end is a Xtreme Flow K and N cone filter. With a test fit/run down the street, my car FREAKIN SCREAMS!!

I can't wait to get the Resonator installed, Paint the Intake(and make a rain shield. Pretty much my car is going to sound NASTY(hopefully not too loud)

Does this sound like a good Idea guys?

Will Definatly post up picks when I get home from school and get this stuff on there

you should copy my m104 intake, i think it would net you higher gains than just a c.i.a

:p sorry i couldnt resist, and i dont get many chances to be a total wanker like that :p

haha but nah cia and exhaust always gain a bit more hp, and sound alot cooler to! specially the intake noise on the m104, 4"is a big center resonator, which is good becauce itl make your car sound good, way better than just a test pipe and rear muffler

At least the cai doesn't cause frequent engine replacement:p :p :p

Speaking of magnaflow mufflers....I decided to get a 4x9x18 3" chambered item to replace my 4x9x18 3" straight through...at the same time we change d my round tips to modified C36 ones....looks good....but the system is now alot louder!!!!.....ffs :(

The larger hollow tips wouldn't have helped but now there's a huge increase in resonance inside the car....so are changing back to the straight through muffer and will install another resonator after it under the rear seats...but needs to be a 4" barrel type.

Does Magnaflow make a 4" round resonator????? 0o...or are you meaning 4x9"?

edit,just found the round ones,need a 3" with 4" barrle they dont make them....er.

I got the magnflow with a 24 in resonator.(it mite even be 18 i cant remember i know omey recommended it here on this site) after she broke in she was a lil too loud for me. doesnt sound bad but i wish it was a bit softer. im also jus running the stock intake, so i wonder how diff it would sound with a cai.
at times i wish i would have stuck it out and gone with remus tho. but i have to say that the magnaflow setup isnt bad by any means. i am just a fanatic sometimes.

time to move the muffler in a little so it doesnt burn your leg? :D

hopefull it the volume isn't too high. I just want some more of that Gurgling sound, like when you let off the gas. i think the one i have is 18in? will have to check

Hey man You should see the back of my legs. That tip gets so hot you can sprinkle water on it and it will sizzle

I plan on moving the muffler back when i get the resonator installed.

when i tried the intake with the setup i have now My friend floored it up the street. It sounded like it was supercharged, i heard this loud whining sound coming at me. then he took out of the development i live in and i could hear it from a couple of blocks away. AND IT SOUNDED GOOD!!

thats the one!! 22 inch resonator, it does sound very smooth with no drone. jus after the break in period she got a tad louder than i personally prefer but you mite like the tone. i would definitely recommend the 22 inch resonator becuz i have heard the magnaflows without it and they sound like crap (excessive drone even from inside the car). i dont kno about the smaller resonator but i think you would like the sound with the 22. it is not rice eater loud but it is aggresive.

when i bought chewy's magnaflow muffler i opted to replace the resonator but from advice from people on here i kept my factory one just for the reason i didn't want my exhaust too loud. it sounds great and not to ricey sounding. if you want anf even tho mine is a c230 kompressor sport i have clips on youtube . just enter w202 CAI and magnaflow exhaust in the search and it will give you the sound of what mine sounds like....

i've seen your videos:D and your car does sound sick. that supercharger whine is one of my favorite car sounds. I'm half/half between installing it or not. I'm definatley installing the CAI though. When the variable valve/intake runners come in on the M104 (awesome sound)

Thanks for the info

I would love to hear what the 22in resonator sounds like!

Heres the new cold air intake. It's actuall part of a 3in Borla SS trans am cat back my friend took off his car. Works perfectly!! it's routed through the bumper for fresh cold air. I painted it with high heat matte black spray paint for an oem look. Sounds real nice, i'm going to make a shield to protect it from getting wet. I'm getting the resonator installed soon, will definitely post up videos when all work is done!!

yea i agree with omey on that one ....a silicon coupler will perform better then the ribbed part you have... make sure you put on the plastic cover on the bottom of the engine . dont need water going up into the intake. also you didnt do the aem valve on that intake which in my opinion will help in certain situations of water going into the intake. would be a easy install, just cut the intake and the aem vlave will go in between the 2 pieces and will reattach them. over all good job on the intake looks oem :D
