Not sure how set you are with the traffic pro but have you considered the bosch one?

http://www.club202.com/features/comand_face/file010.jpg

Its about the same price as the traffic pro however it falls short on the traffic pro list of click here for the list (http://www.hktrafficpro.com/features.asp) ease of installation as you will have to cut to make the 2 din fit.

But what you loose in direct R&R you gain in a graphical map that can too do the arrows or a mix of both

However I really do wish I could use the TMC function of the deck :(

I considered it. It looks so smart and OEM.

But went with a Panasonic DVD based system with seperate LCD in the end.

Graham, is it tricky to see the route with the LCD that low? or do you usually use the voice navigation?

I know Nokia displaced his climate unit to move the COMAND higher on the dash. It seems easier higher up. That way you don't look down too much....but I would take either. It's better than no navigation, especially for someone like myself who gets lost quite easy and confirms the fact men don't like asking for directions. I'd prefer to drive aimlessly for a few hours than ask someone and get to the destination on time :p

comand 2.0 usally go anywhere from 1000 - 1200. As they are used and are usally found on auction sites.

It goes up from there if you want to add multi function steering controlls, multi function dash cluster, TV tuner, phone kit, etc...

Some reading below should you go comand

Comand face mod (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1336)

General hook up of a 163 2.0 unit (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=180)

You will notice on the first link the comand is mounted dead center and in the second link it is the lowered look

I use the voice, but the screen is only that fraction of a second glance away. I find it OK and the clean install that's not altered the car is what I like. It's also removable easily.
