My car c43 have the factory fitted mb alarm system I always lock my car with the remote.
However my garage bud noticed several times that my alarm system flashes it's turnsignal lenses but the siren never goes off and blasts, the battery is never drained I can start my car everytime without any problems.
The alarm flashes for some times and then It stops, the alarm is always activated when I lock my car with the remote.
Why does my car flash it's blinkers by itself.
My teck mechanic didn't find any error codes, he says it's okey.
Thanks for your help:cool:

my car always flashes the turnsignals when i lock my car, and never does the horn sound.i dont think its supposed to....i think thats the way it was designed.i remember reading something about how often they flash in the owners manual toward the back, where it talks about how to program your key

If I understand correctly, then nikroz i
is correct.
Your car will flash its turn signals 2 or 3 times (I cannot recall as I have not driven my car in awhile) when you lock the doors. No horn, beeps, or anything.

when locking and unlocking the car lights should flash , thats a given but if you are not sure if the siren is working just panic it and see if the siren goes off. another way is to lock the door with the window open and after the alarm is set open the door via inside it and the siren should go off.

hey guys thanks for your responds, but you have mizzunderstood me.
When I lock my car with the remote, the blinkers flashes 3 times as always, same as on your cars.
I then leave my car for the night in my garage, my garage buddy saw my car flash it's blinkers by itself even when it's locked but no horn is blasting.
My alarm works as it should with the horn and blinkers flashing if I provoke the alarm to set off.
My main problem is why it flashes randomly for a moment of time maybe 5 to 10 minutes>?
Luckily my battery never gets empty, I can start my car without any problems.
I hope I described the problem better.
thanks

never heard or experienced what you described.
has this always happened or did you do some electrical modifications and then noticed the "late" flashes?

I've never seen this on my car but my friends at the garage noticed this, the only extra thing is my illuminated doorsills that I mentioned on another thread.

bump
My new-to-me 1999 C43 does this as well. Did you ever sort this out?
I think I might have a horn issue that's related to it or causing it. My horn works, but it sounds like it's only the high-pitched horn. Both my 94 C280 and 94 E320 have a low-pitch horn and a high pitch horn. I've found some info online that indicates having a faulty horn (or faulty alarm horn/siren) can cause this problem.

hey buddy, I never fixed my flashing problems from my alarm.
I noticed the horn is somehow dead when I provoke the alarm manually.
Can you try this for me if you get any sound from your system:
# Keep your trunk open, pull out the light switch pin killing the light in your trunk, lock your car with remote - push the light switch pin and your siren should blast -
# Sit in your car, all doors are closed even trunk and bonnet, lock your car with remote - what happens if you open your trunk from inside by depressing the centre console switch, do you get any alarm sound?
# Repeat same procedure from above but now only open your bonnet - do you get any alarm sound from the hood?
# When you use your metal blade key on front door, can you unlock all 4 doors or only your drivers side door and the rest stays locked?
I can only unlock my drivers side door and the rest remains locked????
Please check what I asked for above, I have my car in winter storage now and I'll have to check your results on my car aswell.
I think my horn is toast because I couldn't get any sound from the alarm when testing the trunk light switch!
Btw do you have interior motion sensors in your cabin on B-pillar or do you only have the tow alarm, I only have tow alarm and will eventually retrofit the B-pillar sensors?
Thanx

only the hood set off the alarm. The outside trunk thing merited no response at all. Sitting inside, the trunk wouldn't even open with the alarm armed. Soon as I pulled the hood latch, it went off with lights and siren but never a horn.
I didn't know motion sensors on the interior were an option? Mine doesn't appear to have them.

daem, my alarm never set off when popping the hood!
my trunk did set off when I triggered the pin from outside, but this year it didn't do it anymore??
wtf!
maybe my alarm horn is dead?
so if I understand you correct: your hood did set the alarm when you popped the latch?
but your trunk didn't set off the alarm?
BTW?
Did you try this?

Correct. Trunk didn't set it off. Also wouldn't open via the switch inside.

Yup. According to owners manual, that's normal.

Yup. According to owners manual, that's normal.
You ment to say that ONLY the drivers door unlocks with metal blade key and the rest remains locked?
I haven't checked my manual, I thought there was something wrong with my central-locking only opening 1 door with metal blade key??

yup. Blade key is only supposed to unlock the door you are inserting it into. I'll get my low pitch horn replaced this week and see if that handles the lights flashing. I've got spares on both my older 202's.

thanks for explaing buddy, let me know when you have replaced your horn and PLEASE don't forget to test your alarm again reading my previous questions above:
# Hood latch opening from inside cabin/ alarm activated, any siren blasting?
# Keep trunk open with killed lightswitch and lock your car then pull out the pin after the alarm was activated, any siren blasting?
# Try to unlock your closed trunk with blade key when alarm is activated, can you open the trunk, any siren blasting?
Thanks buddy, I'm counting on you.
Let me know how much is a new horn and ask how many horns there are in our cars for our factory alarmsystem?
Thanks
