What is the engine management system for the 2.8L straight six?

yes a 96' C280 would be OBDII. all cars from 96-current are OBDII. in addition, most 95' import/foreign cars were OBDII compliant already however.

OBD2 would be the diagnostic protocol, but the engine management would be bosch HFM(high frequency modulation).
