Hello all, I have a 1994 C280 which will soon become a commuter car. The one area of the car that is very lacking is in the brake area. I know the popular setup is to go with C32 or a brembo BBK, but I just want to improve the braking...not create a showpiece. The car already has 17" AMG 170's and I have a line on a set of front calipers off of a 1996 C36 at a good price. The question is if any board members have done a C36 brake upgrade? ....and if there are any tips or gotchas. From my research the splashsheilds will need trimming, and the wear sensor receptcles will need to be adapted to the calipers (or just run without the sensors all together). Other than that it looks like a bolt on deal. Just wondering if any have done the swap and if I have missed anything.

Thanks.

Okay it has been a while since I first started collecting parts for the upgrade. Tonight was the night to get it all installed and..........it did not fit. The caliper was up against the rotor preventing it from turning. Just to make sure I did not have the wrong parts I installed the rotors and calipers on my 96 C36 and it was a perfect fit. It looks like the either the wheel hub or the steering knuckle is different to allow more clearence. Anyone know which part needs to be replaced to get these brakes to fit?

Just in case anyone else is doing th same upgrade, the knuckes on the 202's are all the same but the hub was changed starting in the MY1996.
