water leaking????

alright.. so i've never dissassembled a mercedes... only hondas.. but as of late, the past 2 weeks my car has been leaking water and i dont have any idea how this is happening.. it drives fine all day for a few days... sometimes a week with no problem...if i drive it around work etc. but then some days in the morning i come to start up the car and the water light comes on.. i check the front of the car and theres a little puddle of coolant/water.. open the cap..and its dry... btw, the temp is steady at 80 degrees and never raises past 80-85 degrees. car runs fine..no smoke of any color.. just that it has been burning a little oil. any ideas? btw, i'm located in sacramento.. thinking about replacing head gasket and all seals soon and checking internals.
any help will be appreciated.

I know it's an old thread. But I need to know if you did resolve the matter eventually. I have also just started encountering similar circumstances.
