Very dead in the performance section these days =)

Anyway, for anyone interested heres what iv been upto with the 202 in the last year or so.

2nd engine build failed as some where along the line we bent two rods, possibly had issues with timing and a fault injector,so it has been rebuilt again with second hand rods, new rings,evo7 injectors,a new fuel rail and some provision for adjusting the exhaust cam.

Rebuild:

Exhaust sprocket from another MB engine, slotted to allow adjustment 5 degrees either direction:

Access for adjustment:

Fuel rail with split spray Evo7 injectors:

While on the dyno we optimised the intake cam advance switch points, stock is 4300,we now switch it off around 5300:

The results of the exhaust cam adjustment were good,5 degrees advance made a loss with only a slight gain at peak, and 5 degrees retard did exactly the opposite:

This is the latest power run verse the last engine build/tune,the engine now runs smoother than ever, and power runs at equal boost pressure showed better results.power peaks at just over 236kW @ the wheels,an estimated 385Hp at the engine, and it pulls nice =)

Managed to get dyno vids this time but need to find some editing software.

Cheers,
Paul

I know Paul.. so dead in this forum now!
Glad to see you've made alot of progress though. 316hp to the wheels huh!.. thats pretty damn decent I must say. it really must pull nice. any more plans? up the boost at all? what are you running now?.. about 13-14lbs by the looks of your dyno graphs?

Hey!,thanks guys.

Sup Ross, theres always more plans xD ,next part is to make the exhaust as quiet as possible, also to build a intake box and plumb the bypass and crank vent in. then install the oxygen sensor and idle control and tune for close loop so we get better economy! =)

Will probly leave power as is for now, with just me in the car first gear is pretty much usless, and second isnt far behind hehe.
Boost is slightly uncontrolled late in the RPM and hence why it rises to around 16psi,but for most of the RPM we have it around 14 - 15,the increase to 16 happened when we retarded the exhaust cam as the wastegate system was already at max flow(notice the boost trend on the runs we did while altering exhaust cam timing)

I think we are about at the limit of the turbo,as its rated for 350hp and we are estimating around 385 atm.intake temps are in the 40's at that power...so the system is working fairly well.

catchup soon,
Paul

Small vid on dyno, had a hard time getting the right software to make it all happen.

Hi, everybody! I have a similar project and want to turn too a cam-shaft gear wheel, but a gear wheel laid off original number A1110520001 it replaced with number A1200520401, but it respectively another where to take a star as from you and with what it the motor?1034

Hi!,
I believe the Cam wheel I used came off an older M111 or M104, You will need to source a second hand one which shouldnt be too hard!

I already found a gear on auto dismantling, gear with number A1110520001, was installed on the first issues of engine M 111 and M104

Pagz, please give a table of angles
that you have turned

Pagz

The maximum we milled the slots for was for +/- 5 degree's, You have to wonder if we had have milled it for 10 degree's would we have made more power or would we have piston to valve conflict.

Sorry for my english, please give the table ignition timings that you have turned

Pagz
06-01-2013, 12:20 PM
That's ok!. We made power by retarding the exhaust 5 degree's.

I do not have any ignition tables on hand however If you were running a motec ecu I may be able to send you the file so you could at least view the tables, but you will need the motec interface or a tuner that has one.

Cheers,

Yes, I have no control Motec, but still if you can send me all the files to the post office I will install the program and see if I will be very grateful, thank you, post best31varadero@yandex.ru, that's my car in the photo, if you're interested, the stock motor, M111 .975, turbo CT15B, 1.2 bar, 550 injectors sti

I installed the program, I can now see the motec halyards (format) now send its configuration files to e-mail:best31varadero@yandex.ru

Hello!, Interesting clk you have there, do you have any photo's of the engine bay?

It looks like I have deleted my motec folders since I updated my laptop OS, I will call my tuners and get them to send the last motec files we tuned to me, it will take a day or two and I will forward to you.

Regards,
Paul

How to complete the configuration, will direct beauty, and so in short, the collector Subaru sound, all exhaust trail 63 mm, straight-through muffler from Saab turbo, brakes Brembo 4-piston from w220 and rotor 330mm, pass from saab + 30mm Blow Off

Excellent. How much BHP (kW)?

The exact capacity is not yet known, would later be measured dynamics and froze on the dyno stende.Pagz being the case, if you have not found the files, really looking forward;)

Thankyou for the pics!, I like the look of the saab blow off(recirculating) it is the one mod I wish I had got around to doing to mine!.

Very interesting exhaust manifold,do you make one pipe longer purely for sound?

My tuner has agreed to send the files but I have not recieved them yet, I will contact him again early next week if I do not see them!.

Yes, only for the sound, since Subaru boxer engine respectively piping with 2 cylinders will be lengthened, and so it is only possible worse turbine will spool later, but I really like the sound of Subaru http://yadi.sk/d/I9onuc0k5bAWa

Helloy all, there was a problem doesn't hold (slips couplings), SACHS coupling, advise alternative which could digest more than a power

I assume you mean the clutch does not hold the torque? If so then you might want to source an uprated pressure plate!.

Some clutch specialists may be able to offer to uprate your existing pressure plate, or replace with uprated unit.

SPEC clutches used to offer clutch upgrades for M111 also.

Hi,

Are you both running stock clutches and gearboxes?

Pagz
07-18-2013, 01:39 PM
I did run stock gearbox yes, I had some signs of wear on my drain plug magnet, you would possible want to run slightly heavier oil and hope it does not effect shifting too much.

All kind time of day, it was succeeded to adjust on pressure 21psi, but corners of an advancing of ignition bad (there is a detonation) as extent of compression 8.8 it is a lot of, for normal control it is necessary to unclench the engine to 7-7.5, then it will be possible to adjust on more evil corners, and respectively to avoid a detonation. To put thick laying not to turn out as distance between cylinders very little, laying will simply blow, means only to do the piston under the order under smaller degree, or may be it is possible to pick up from something who possesses such information write please here the link to the sizes (parameters) of the native piston:

кстати в субботу попробовал маленько нагрузить новый мотор. выдержал и успехом. асфальт в гармошку собирает. буста кидает 1кг компрессор ваще исправно. больше не стал давить. очкую пока. скользко)

Are you using a dual mass flywheel?

KrumB
03-12-2014, 09:05 AM
Hi Paul,

You have used Siemens 550cc injectors. Do you happen to have the injector/model numbers?

Pagz
03-12-2014, 11:53 AM
Hello Krum,
Yes still have the injectors lying around, think I have them listed on a local auction site for $100nzd

I can try get the part numbers for you, if I recall you will need to pop out your fuel rail upright and cut off a few mm's then reinstall as they are shorter than stock..but dont quote me on that one it was a long time ago ;).
