I'm looking for W202 coilover for C230 ... I drive this car regularly for track day ...Only for fun, not serious race/competition...

So far I've identified 4 brands available in the market:
1. KW V2 price on ebay US $1,896.56
2. D2 RACING price on ebay US $958.75
3. Ksport price on ebay US $952.00
4. H&R SPORT CUP KIT price on www.optionsauto.com $752.00

Could you guys give me any hints? Which one is worth (performance/$)?

H&R's are not coilover.

Imo I would stay clear of D2,
iv had a look at this kit and the spring rates are very high.story goes somthing like this: guy out back of D2 trips over spring which happens to be the same diameter as the eibach spring his mate used a few years back...bingo 202 D2 kit on the market.

Also as far as i know(as per the kit i looked at) the rear of the kit is adjustable only!...wtf?.

Cheers,
Paul

the KW kit is "coil over".. its very adjustable.
I have it.. very pricey IMO, but its worth the money if your serious about it. the shocks are amazing.

Hey c55m8o,

Have always been intrigued about how these are installed and how they last.

they look like they mount through the top of the spring perch, but im pretty sure thats not possible in the rear,so do they mount through the bottom?

Ya slammed, and actually, about $1K more. It started $500 more and Jeff had made upper adjustable perchs for me up front too not pictured, so I'd guess if he was to do it again it would be a K $ more.

23K, when all is setup right, it's everything I ever and I imagine any W202 owner ever would want. I have had my issues tho. largely from some bad installation work (they were learning themselves I guess, as that kind of work on a W202 is quite rare) that put undue stresses on the primary weight bearing bolts up front, which sheered, the wheels rubbing the shocks causing damage, and excessive bottoming causing damage to the shocks. The thing about it is, they're completely field servicable. Not being edjamacated in the rebuild process of them, I just need to take them off and have them sent out to be repaired.

Critical in making the W202 turn well really is in replacing all the fixed links with adjustable ones in the rear so an aggressive alignment can be done, and a camber kit in the front. p.s., there's a gallery of shop pix over on Fotki too.
