Hi guys, I just noticed some rust on my beloved car it's in the enginebay near the firewall!
You have the ontop oval rubberseal that goes from left to right behind the engine! If you pull up this long rubber seal at the both ends 20 cm you'll see the metal where this rubber sits on!

The both edges on left and right side holds some kind of soft foam seal in place by plastic clamps!
This foam seal is pressed on the metal where the on top rubber seal is placed!
This is a rusttrap I found some rust on this metal in the engine bay!
So if you are a frequent tidy and clean person whom washes your car often and in the enginbay this foam seal is then going to be soaked with water!
It's wet all the time and never dries up from engine heat!
I try to attach a picture ÃÂ*t's highlighted in red color!
This concerns both left/right sides at the end of the rubber seals remove and inspect for rust damage!

HOW DO I POST A PICTURE TO SHOW YOU ALL?
THERE IS NO UPLOAD PICTURE BUTTON HERE!
ONLY (IMG) BUTTON!
HOW DO I PROCEED?

Even if its a rusttrap or not, thats not a big deal.

Worry about springs falling off and rust along the doors.

what springs falling off?
you talkin' about suspension?

A rusttrap is not always to be noticed!
The spunge that is attached to this metal sheet stays wet and then you don't see when it rusts!
I ripped both of them off and then I had to clean the surface from rust and repaint!
These spunges never dry up from heat in the engine compartment, and you all guys know how hot it gets in a C43 enginebay if you drive hard!

Just pull up the seal and inspect for rust, easy done!
No rust good,if there is to bad!

Rust comes many times around the bootlock, down the doors and upper doorframes under the rubber seals, fold and inspect!
Remedy in Sweden was to remove rust, repaint-then wax it with special MB WAX from stealership!
put wax from the upper end side and down to the end where the sidemirror is, ( in the drain)

other places are the front hood, along the fenders edges

Yes ive had one little rust bubble on the drivers door at the bottom where the rubber runs - fixed it up.

best thing to do is to buy the MB special wax for inner body seal, when it dries up it gets sticky and prevents the rubber around the upper doorpart to grind off the paint under the rubber sealing!
This is a flaw from MB when constructed these cars!
I also had a rust bubble but MB took care of it under warranty!
Removed rust. Repainted and waxed all 4 doors!
I my self every year rewax the parts to keep it fresh and sticky!
Water penetrates these parts and stays forever then starts to rust eventually!

Many 202 and 210 met an early death in sweden coz of the bullshit rustproblems the company had!

Have you seen a rusty 202 or a 210 you, if not you'll be chocked!
Here is a 210 I found on google there are even worse cars than this one!
