I have a noise in the left front that is not coming from the bearings and it feels like the lower ball joint that connects the front lower control arm to the upright.

Has anyone removed that part and replaced it. Just curious on how hard it is to do and what sort of time I am looking at.

Thanks

Jeff

Its one of the easiest things you can do on a w202. You dont have to press them in. I did mine a while back. Youll need to remove the spring if I remember correctly. No special tools needed, just a good floor jack to help lower the control arm. First thing youll want to do is remove the wheel and loosen the lower control arm bolts, dont remove them. Just loosen them up. place jack under control arm. raise control arm about 1". Undo ball joint nuts. Lower jack a bit. insert new joint and bobs your uncle
