Hey everyone.
Looking for some tips before I accidentally fry my electrical system.
I bought a keyless system. My C280 doesn't or didn't come with one. No alarm and no keyless entry. I'm tired of using the key and/or scratching the door area accidentally.
My keyless system is a REC 11+. Seems good enough for my needs eg. unlock/lock.
However, I noticed it can also do 2 other things.
It can pop the trunk and flash parking lights.
So that brings me to my questions.
#1 how would it be possibly to pop the trunk? I assume I need a relay and can't use the default button we have on the trunks? The system provides POS or NEG output for the trunk release.
#2 I wanted to make use of the dome (interior) and/or parking lights. I am going to install this system in the trunk (as I'm taping off the trunk line for unlocking/locking), so I'm wondering if it's okay to tap off the parking lights from the rear end of the car? I believe the system would provide a POS 12V current for this... but I don't want to blow my electrical unit if i do this wrong. Can I tap off a bulb or wire on the rear end parking lights and provide 12V?
