why i pay a little more for a oil change

earlier i was asking some people about Kendal oil products as my friend works at firestone. to save a little i thought about them doing my oil change. well i decided to have mercedes do it after all as the savings wasnt big and as most people know mercedes does a free inspection . well to my amazement they found out my lower control arm bolt right side was broken and could have been any time this bolt could slip out so the way i see it the 30 dollar i would have saved from firestone would have cost me more if that bolt slipped out.... lesson learned....

Did they show you this broken bolt? Bolts just don't break.

Many indy oil change places will do an inspection while changing the oil. They would have probably found the bolt.
Or any mechanic who just did a suspension inspection. What'd ya pay for the oil change?

the car was up on the lift and yes i did verify ...strange thing how that happen as they were puzzled them selves .they caught it as the bolt wasnt flush and when he touched the bolt it moved .. yea most places do inspections but who was to say they would have seen it. and the funny thing was they say i m the only w202 that still takes my car to a dealership . the bolt wasn't in stock but they did get it so doing it at another place the bolt may have not been available the oil change was about 79.00
