running repairs today

on the c36

i changed the both engine mounts took 45 min one 17mm bolts on top and 13mm under neath
i found the passenger mount was split in two once removed i had a noise from rear at hard driving it was exhaust clipping rear flex disc so i new some thing was wrong fixed now

also new gear linkage rubber stops nocking noise from center of car if any one has this prob

also new electric aerial as i snaped the old one last week

and oxygen sensor which was a pain no space

nice evening s work took it for a spin felt great nice and tight

next job rear sway bar replace and bushes then she is perfect

I have a clicking noise but only when driving in reverse when put in drive the clicking/ knocking noise goes away ? Do you think this could be the shift linkage or the motor mounts ?

im not sure i would need more info it could be several things

you have moment from some were

were is the noise coming from

i once had this on a w202 it turned out to be the spring clip holding the brake pads in place had rusted away and the click was the pads slipping and hitting the caliper but only on reverse this might be it

the gear linkage noise is under the gear stick area

and motor mounts would usually make a noise from exhaust moving hitting other parts

keep us posted on it you may have a drop link prop

Get someone to drive the car in reverse while you walk along side listening for the source.
