So I went to DJ Aoki concert last nite with my friend whose a professor at University of Texas Dallas. So this PhD gets wasted like no other. He ends up punching the windshield of my car whilst driving! I was like WTF, then he punched it three more times yelling "Ill pay for it." This guy went insane.

So he calls me this morning like what happened last night. I told him he broke my windshield, doing his fukin mortal kombat. He was like IM SO SORRY I will pay for it. Im like I need an OEM windshield with the sticker.

So basically my question is where is the best place other than the dealership to get an oem windshield for the cheapest price on the internet.

I got my windshield replaced at the dealer. I believe PPG supplies the windshields for MBUSA. Original windshields were obviously made in Germany so you wont get the "Exact" windshield but the replacement will have the MB logo on it. It wouldn't be cost effective to send windshields from Germany, when they can me made here in the U.S for MB for much less.

PPG (usuall for Honda's etc)

Sekurit and Pilkington are usually replacements for European's.

I'm not sure of the costs for the W202 are but for my VW MkV, a Pilkington glass was about $250. I would assume the W202 is the same cost because of the laminate in the glass... and the Dot matrix's.

No, PPG supplies the windshields, I would know because I worked at a Mercedes-Benz dealer.

Back when mine was replaced I had a PPG installed at a local shop. I really couldn't tell any difference. I picked up the G Daimler sticker on eBay for authenticity

I won't dispute what 202brabus says. I just know that my replacement is a Pilkington

hmm I called the dealership yesterday they told me it was $345 for the glass and it would take a couple of days to arrive. So i guess im going to go with them. Does anyone know what installation will cost?

Called local auto glass place that had the best reviews online. They installed it in my driveway within 2 hours of the phone call. Used a Pilkington glass, which is actually good quality glass.

But alot can be said for MB OEM glass they used to install in Stuttgart. That stuff was the bomb dot com. My eyes can faintly see differences--like very VERY tiny waves in the field of view that only a nerd like me would notice.

Anyway, the whole thing only ran me $224. Worth every penny.

I've got a salvage '95 that I'm putting together so I'm going the cheapest route. I got a new Chinese windshield from a glass distributor for under $75 and replaced it myself. Total cost with adhesive, $80.
