ive got a 98/c240.its a v6 m112.so i have the single electric fan behind the rad..
(not the viscous fan with a clutch).
the cooling fan is not coming on at all..is there a temp switch i can bridge to check the fan works?.if so where is it??....any other advice on where to start would be greatly received..
thanks in advance..

you should have
one viscous fan and two at the front for AC
the temperature switch will be in a rad with two wires going to it also if not one at top of water pump on the block small connector two wires

pull off plastic cover on engine right in the middle and above the water pump their is a temp switch also its near the highest small pulley

sounds like an aftermarket cooling fan to me. I would make sure it hasn't failed.

no its not fella..i have seen there is diff set ups for the cooling fans..i think on the facelift..but im not 100% which ones are different or why.
if i can find the switch for the fan..i can bridge it to make sure the fan itself hasnt failed..
i do know it has a electronic control box for the fan inside the passenger wheel arch.
has anyone heard of this failing??...
thankyou..
these pictures might help..

The c240 is facelift only. The M112 didn't exist until '98. It definitely looks liek your cooling fans have been removed. Why do you think there is a gap in front of you radiator?

looks very strange
the m112 engine was only made in 1998 on
so you have no pulley even for a viscus fan if i had i would fit a fan to the pulley
you could just put 12v to the fan and start it to be sure

That's not my car, that's a c240. I'll take a look under the hood and see how mine is hooked up.

sorted..it turned out to be broken wires on the cooling fan relay in the passenger wing..
just for referance for anybody who might be wondering.
the aircon works perfect now.which proves that the fans havent been removed.
and thier are diferant set ups for the aircon fans..
cheers.
