Car shaking and bumpy when driving...

Can anybody shed some light on this newly arisen problem, for the last 3-4 weeks, my 1997 c280 w202 Ellegance has been shuddering alot and is bumpy and edgy whilst driving, when I accelerate hard or semi hard, it makes a sound similar to a backfire exhaust noise, the noise comes from the back when going around corners and mostly on roundabouts etc, it sounds like the fuel filter as this is at the back of the car... has anyone else had this problem? I have had the car for about a month and a half and now this has happened, I don't want to spend thousands now or hundreds...

Could be alignment, or have the wheels been aligned lately? Rotated?

This post might help for the second issue, I also have that 'backfire' noise. I havent gotten around to fixing it. Here is the thread... Hope this helps..

@Yujin I have not had the wheels checked recently, but I will make an appointment to do this, thanks for the link, I will have a look.

@Zmatt It feels like the engine is sputtering, the car is fine after sitting for a few hours and then drives normally, but after a while it starts it's tricks again...
