Alright, so I'm wanting to upgrade my pulley and belt. The only place I can find anything is aspracing.com and its $1200 and comes with other shit. My friend INSIST that I can get a custom pulley made for like under $200 with a belt and have a shop put it on. Anyone have any input on this?

I got the same advice, but you need to find the right place to make you one, and with the right specs. The mechanic recommended I just pulls the specs off another 'performance' pulley and try and have them replicate it. Didnt try it, I gave up on performance and am going after cosmetics now haha.

Yeah, it's pretty much the only thing I want to do as far as performance. Well that and an ECU tune. After that, I'm good.

Is the ASP one that much now?! wow.. used to be hella cheaper.
If you can source out a Kleemann kit.. it would be the best performance upgrade.. the ASP one is smaller diameter I believe, so less boost.
The kleemann ones are had to find, I sold mine about 2 years ago. I was pushing between 12 and 13lbs of boost with it. I had a Upsolute chip tune and a custom intake and custom exhaust. was putting 187hp to the wheels and 200ft lbs of torque to the wheels. my next upgrade was a supersprint header.. never dyno'd the car with the header on.. but I bet I was at 200hp to the wheels and 210-215ft lbs of torque to the wheels. it was nice.. pulled nice.
a custom one would be a good route.. probably cheaper than the ASP kit, but you need to know dimensions in order to have a custom crank pulley made. I;d also recommend relocating the MAS if you do have one custom made, Im not sure what the ASP kit comes with so if its not included, it is something you will want to do. colder spark plugs as well, they are a must.

found a company called dyno-comp.. they have an upgraded pulley for the M111 engine.. may be an option.. says from $995. http://dynocomp.com/details.php?browse_make=Mercedes&model=64&type=10

The deal with a custom one is the harmonic dampener built into the OEM pulley

That's the thing, where the hell can I get the dimensions?!

Slammed, was this for a C230K as well? 187HP to the wheels doesnt seem like much of a huge difference compared to stock. What was the car with the upgrades?

its a big difference from stock as the 185 hp rating isnt at the wheels

Everybody outside of the factory measures horsepower and torque rating at the wheels. In most RWD applications the power loss is somewhere around 15%.

yes it was for a C230K.. a 1999.
Engine:
I had a custom intake set up that deleted the entire factory airbox and pipes to the supercharger (I made everything myself to the supercharger), Kleemann K23 pulley kit with MAS relocation, supersprint header, custom exhaust with a single high low cat, 2.5" pipe and an Eisenmann race muffler.
oh trust me.. putting down almost 190hp to the wheels is a huge difference. the 187hp rating you will find in the owners manual is at the flywheel.. all manufacturers rate hp at the engine.. never to the wheels. I was pushing close to 200hp (with the header) to the wheels.. so its a huge deal and accomplishment.

exaclty!

see if you can get into contact with Dokotela.. he bought my Kleemann pulley kit.. see if he can measure the crank pulley.
