Ok, wtf.

The light keeps coming on, it is intermittent, but its starting to worry me. Have I neglected her in any way? Is she dying on me? Does parts need to be replaced?

She is a W202 C230K 2000. I baby the fuck out of her, but I also ride her hard, i wont lie.

Any ideas?

I usually just shut the car off and turn her back on and the lights gone.

You mean the ! symbol that comes on when tcs kicks in?

No, not the triangle with the !, I know that means its working and Im skidding. I mean the actual warning light that is on the left side of the cluster.

According to Benzworld, it is my break light switch, the physical switch under the break? Idk, Ill try that route if I can get the part.

It might help if you could tell us which light it is. Break light switch doesn't sound right. Break pad wear sensor? Break light bulb sensor?

Its the ESP/BAS indicator. Not the triangle with the ! in it. Its the warning light, like something fucked up, like a check engine light.

Any ideas? Ill try to snag a picture when I get the chance.

well that could mean a lot of things I think. Your pads may be worn, your abs may not be working right etc. I would get the code read to see what it actually is.

Will the OBDII work with that light? I thought it only works with Check Engine lights

im also having that problem...my bas/esp light comes on,the actual skid control no longer works n im also at a loss.im very interested as to how you sort your problem out.i was told that a wheel speed sensor could also be the cause...

I may be mistaken, but I believe you should have codes with that light. Just like you get codes with the SRS light on. I think the CEL gets turned on with "P" (powertrain) codes, but not with always with chassis/body codes.

I just bought a Break Light Switch, from what this tech told me. Its a DIY job from what he told me. Ill update when its installed.

You'll spend more time getting the lower trim panel off and back on than you will replacing the switch.

The brake light switch is a common fault and is easy to do and quite cheap in runs alot of things the diognostic says mine is faulty even though no lights r on. But u do have to plug it in after u have fitted the new part to get rid of the stored fault. I had 6 stored faults cos the last owners mechanic was from the 1950's and didnt even have a scanner
