HI all, this is my first post! so hopefully someone finds it useful :)
so I have a late 95 w202 c280. I lowered it on H&R sport springs (1 inch drop) with bilstein sport shocks to go with it.
It rides great, there is almost no difference in ride comfort (so I think) I've only noticed the extra stiffness on sharp bumps really. Looks heaps better, no rubbing or anything
I used the compressor tool to get the springs out. Made the job alot easy, definately recommend getting one of ebay cheap...er.

SO I just thought I'd show how it looks, if anyone was thinking of this set up
I've got number 1 pads in the back and no pads up front :)

Looks great. I have the same set up but my car seems to sit lower even with #3 pads up front and #4 pads in the rear. I was actually trying to get a ride height like yours.

Ive had this setup in for about a day and a half, so that could be why its a little higher? personally I hope it goes down a little bit more :) but at least at this height I can get up driveways and all that i guess.

So the ride quality is the same even with the Bilstein Sport? I was thinking of switching mine out for them in hopes of having a more "matched" comfort for the H&R springs..

Yeah id say comfort hasnt changed. You only notice it if u hit a sharp bump then u feel its abit stiffer. but over all, id say its just as good

ok so you have no pads and the ride is still smooth right? what do the pads do then? i have a 94 c280. does anyone know what pads come stock with it?

no pads means you hear "clunk" no matter what.

just wait.

if you don't hear it yet, metal to metal contact means rust is in your future. Why do you think bushings were invented?

what are the part numbers and where did you guys order your H&R sport springs? I'm looking to get some 1in lowering springs for my 98 C230 (non kompressor)

Also while i'm at it, anyone link or tell me where a good place to get Bilstein Sport shocks/struts?

i got my H&R sports at Tirerack.com and partsgeek.com is a way cheaper place to get Bilstein sports.
