hi,
I know that there have been a few threads here and there but none seems to answer the problem I have. I took my 1998 c200 elegance for for upholstery repairs as the roof was now sagging. When I fetched the car from the workshop, my boot wouldn't open. The red light on the switch on the console was on, the boot just would not open. I tried using the remote to open, and the physical key and the console switch and it just would work. The central locking for the doors an windows works perfectly but the boot just wouldn't open.
After a bit of an investigation,it turn out if I switch off the internal light (i.e., the lights that go on when the doors are open) the boot will open, but the moment I turn the lights on, I cant open the boot. I have resorted to turning off the light, but this obviously has the downside that at night I cant see anything.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? Please help!
