steaming windshield

hello club202 members gotta problem i have some steam coming up my windshield ive been told that its my heater core any suggestions before it goes to the dealer 1998 c230

how much are we talking and where on the windshield? do you notice any wetness on the passenger floor?

It will be your heater matrix do you have wet foot wells?

yes i do as a matter of fact what do i do and can you estimate the cost for repair btw thanks for replying

jus a lil cloud and some wetness in passenger floor

ugh heater cores can be a pain to do. It can be as simple as getting access via the passenger footwell and dropping it down or as bad as taking the entire dashboard down. I've changed one and it was the entire dashboard.
There are a pair of o-rings which might have developed a leak but otherwise you're in for a new unit. The manual for your year looks like a dash disassembly.

if your not bothered about the car you could stick some rad weld in but thats a fix if your selling it. Its a dash out job i afraid big job

thanks for the info; rats i was afraid of the dash out gig; i have to get it fix im trying to get it ready by the summer 2012 had it for about a year as adaily driver 213k miles purrs like a kitten until this happened
