i was just wonder guys how fast does your transmission shift from 1st to 2nd i noticed that mine is really fast, feel like im driving manual, there is no clunk, although a slight jerk , i just brought the car not too long and its still cold in eastern pa, so just wondering, some input would help, i just want to make sure nothing is wrong, im picky with my cars lol

really fast in what way
low rpm or just in general the 1st > 2nd shift is quick
in mine the 1st>2nd is quick enough, but no where near a dsg

Quick as in..2nd hits at 2000 rpm on the dot, basically i can feel it shifting, its not a super smooth shift, is your similar? Do you the 5 shift ratios??

yes, i have the 5 sp
the transmission learns the driving style of the owner, it may still be used to the previous owner who by the sound of it is a very relaxed one.
There is a reset procedure for the tranny so is forgets everything and learns your way of driving

Do you think resetting a 96 c280 sport is the same way? I guess it wouldnt hurt to try

Kick down tells the tranny to go into the lowest possible gear that's available,
i.e. If you try go up a hill and the tranny doesn't shift down, you push the throttle down hard past the kickdown and it shifts down so you can go up the hill faster, or overtake someone.

that is the best example of one i can find, basically it's a button at the end of your throttle so if you think you've hit the end just push it a little harder and you'll hear this click and the tranny will shift down

Sorry, i don't think it works on the 4 speeds as they were vacuum controlled, not electronic

This is good for future reference.
Let me search the forum for similar topic "Reset procedure for 722.6" transmission so we can request the admin to sticky - if there's none already there. Thanks.

It's useful, i do it at least every 2 months as the tranny get confused and loves to climb hills in 5th
