broken front spring

hello everyone , i know it sounds weird but the drivers side coil spring broke (found piece in driveway).
I was wondering if I should change just the one side thats broken or do i have to do both?
any input is highly appreciated.... car is a 1999 c230

Depending on if you are getting new, used or lowering I would replace in pairs.

I got a pair of stock OEM springs if needed.

post your general location, year and model of your W202. That would help out a lot.

if it is truly broken, replace the pair or all. chances are the others may be on the way out as well.
