What does it mean when it throws a "fuel trim malfunction" bank one or 2?

P0170 and p0243 were the codes and the shop says maybe bad maf? Any ideas?

Are you driving a 99' or 00" C230 Kompressor by any chance?

P0170 points to a faulty MAF
P0243 points to a bad fuel filter.

When was the last time you had your car fuel filter and airflow sensor replaced?

A 99, it only happens sometimes like on my way home from work today lol I changed the fuel filter not too long ago, that's weird. Maybe I got some bad gas and clogged it, what brand is good? I went to autozone last time and I never heard of whatever it was lol I have a new MAF sensor in the mail now from autohausaz. But I think the MAF has never been changed since I've owned it lol
