so after working for 8 hours i went to my car tonight (11pm) and as my interior lights illuminate my cabin i notice this!

WTFFF. idk what happend it wasnt like that today. the picture is after i pinched the liner back under the vents in was hanging on both sides about a half an inch and from the picture you can see the gap is about a 6 inches wide. i fixed the hanging but as soon as i open my sun roof they will probabaly hang again. and even though it doesnt hang you can see where there is air in there. does anyone know if there is a fix for this to make it all stick back up there or do i need to replace it?

I had that happen not too long ago too! I would love a fix, it is very ugly... I tried to pop those vents out but they sounded like they'd break

I would love to know how it.happens. it happens in like 8 hours with my car parked lol like I'm baffled lol but I mean theres gotta be something to fix it like its not just our cars that do this you see it all the time with car headliners sagging. Like a spray or something. I just don't feel like buying a new slider thing or re applying the liner . But something has to be done its too ugly it looks like I'm in a shitty car lol

With a 15 year old car, I'd say those things happen due to age. The glue holding the liner degrades. The liner at my C-Pillar looked like this 6 years ago. I just did a DIY to glue them back together using
3M fabric glue. To date it hasn't come back. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens to my car in the next year or so. My car is garaged all the time btw.

Damn I guess. But I mean how would I get the glue in there there's no way without making it worse by pulling it. I need like a glue spray lol if they make that :(

My sunroof slider is like that. And at one point it started to rain foam!! I just leave the slider back for right now. I know there's a video on how to pull it out but I still can't figure it out. Pisses me off. I think when I do get around taking it out. Ima re do it in black. Maybe re do my headliner in black too

get what the upholstery shop uses... i think the 3m spray hvmercy mentioned... there are also tacks you could use to make it look like a custom job... kinda sketchy to me though....

What ever you decide to do those plastic vents are as brittle as thin thin glass!!! Same problem here just mine looked worse!!! Thought i could get the vents out but one light push and CRACK, broke into about 10 pieces. Dry rot, sun cooked, what ever. Havent found any replacements as of yet. Will probably just cut some cardboard outta a box to fit the rectangular hole and recover with new material. Making sure the pieces i cut out will be flush and unnoticeable when new cloth is applied.

same thing happened to mine. you have to take it completely apart and reassemble with high quality spray glue. even then, it'll last maybe a year or two before it happens again, because of the soft orange padding MB used between the fabric and the surface. best bet is to take it to a pro shop and have it recovered. too bad it'll never match again... or at least until you have to recover the entire headliner next year. sorry bud, it's inevitable.
I threw away the cover in my C280. The headliner is still sagging in front and back and is held up with thumbtacks till I get it recovered. the cover in my c43 was already gone when I bought it, and the headliner is moments away from dropping like it did in my C280.
the headliner is probably the only place in the car that wasn't sufficiently engineered. they spent $3-5b designing the w202 back in the early 90's. By today's math that's roughly $10b to design ONE car. Don't let anyone tell you the w202 was "rushed" or they "slashed costs."

damn=( well i just bought 3m liner spray. luckly the rest of the liner is fine (knock on wood) so i guess ill try and get that done tonight. its always the little stuff that messes up. afer the liner started to sag my damn right headlight went out, then the next day the left. and i tried differnt lights and ballasts so it has to be a wire in both headlights lol so ive been driving with my figs on thats it lol..and noone around here works on these cars so i have to do it myself and i never have time so ifeel like im neglecting my car lol

The current weather is not the most ideal to do this project. The humidity is too high for the 3M glue to stick properly.
This should be a summertime project.

You say that now...
Removing the headliner in a w202 is quite the job. If you're lucky you can do it without removing one of the front doors or the windshield.

I had the headline job done about one year ago, my 97 C230 has 235K miles. It started exactly like in OP's picture, than in the back of the car... I put tape for a while :)
It cost me $175 at a local guy in Boca Raton, FL. This is his specialty and he had different types of fabric to match the original. He ask me to remove the sunroof, easy job. Check out my channel http://www.youtube.com/user/lucabertone80 - have some videos how to do it. The only problem after, was that the seat-belts would not retract, I guess he didn't know how to install them back :( but i can deal with it.
good luck!
Edit: NO, the seats were not taken out for the headliner job
