Does anyone know if chrome rims can be turned into like a polished alloy? Theres a guy selling these lorinser LM1s but theyre in chrome. Im not a chrome fan. He said he will get back to me with wheel specs and more pics tomarrow. So hopefully everything turns out like i want. Hopefully theyre wider than 8inches. Im runnin 18x8.5 and 18x10s right now. Dont wanna go smaller. But these are one of my favorites. Haha it looks so small on the limo

you can polish em. But you have to strip the chrome. Could be costly

you have to strip the chrome out then a ton of sanding... maybe cheaper to just have them powdercoated.

Unless you really like the rims it is financially an expensive proposition. When I found a set of chrome rims the local rim refinisher wanted $125 extra per rim just to strip the chrome off. Add to that the standard refinishing cost and I just had to walk away from the deal. Another downside is that the chroming process weakens the structure of the rim so even after all that money you will have a weaker rim.

My lorinser rs90's are chrome but I'm getting them stripped and powdercoated chrome. Chrome powdercoat is sick, not chrome but it's almost billet looking silver. Will look good on my w124
