not sure what the problem is ive narrowed it down to something in the front suspension. or axle? i first thought my new tires were rubbing then that was ruled out. when i drive completly strait there is no problem but when i turn the slightest even to switch lanes there is a loud thumping noise left and right. then if i do it slowly like at 5mph or less it sounds like a scrapping noise and the bump bump bump. im nervous driving it incase it is a serious issue. ive called around to a few places (one called benz doctors and another european autosports) both said i would need to come in for them to figure it out. both an hour drive away. so i was hoping that maybe someone on here had some insight on what the problem might be or if its happened before. thanks in advance...

just talked to a guy at one of the places and he said it sounds like the bolts are going into the hub to far it it is hitting every time i turn

My extended bolts were too long when I installed them so I took a grinder and shaved off a quarter inch off of each bolt. Crosscheck your current bolts with the OEM bolts you had and shave off the difference.

well both of them i guess are going in too far. when i first put the wheels on i used the factory lug bolts and they went in too far. then i converted to studs and i guess i tightened them in too long. tomrrow im going to jack the car up and look behind the hub and see if i can see if they are coming out the other side.

did you change bolts/wheels? did you add any adapter? what kind bolts does your wheels take? conical or ball seat?

i did the same thing after i installed my spacers and the lugs were too long.

that's weird if its way too much in... there usually is a set stop position on it to avoid that from happening...

always remember its stock bolt plus spacer thickness... so far so good for me... have 2 1/2 sets of bolts... stock bolts, extended (stock + 15mm for 15mm spacers) and half a set of extended (stock + 10mm for 10mm spacers)

I have 25mm spacers they're the ones that bolt on to the hub directly and then bolt the wheel on the spacer
