Evening all. Just got my new remanufactured ac comp. I have looked everywhere for the oil quantitiy that is to be applied to the comp. And i cannot find the proper amount. To my understanding the pump needs oil just like a engine does. Just have to fine to correct amount . Any suggestions ??? I don't want to burn up $300bucks . Thanks all.

Here's a bump for all. Got everything up and running!! Pulled a 30-45 min vac on the ac system. Got 40-45lbs on the low side and close to 200lbs on the high side. Compressor comes on and is putting good cold air out the center vents in the dash 45-50 degress. Now the 2 side vents are a differnt story, the driver side hovers around 120 degress and the passenger side around 90+degress. HELP please. I can hear the vacum pump in the rear when i change positions from floor, middle and dash. WTF is goin on??????

I would bet your duo valve is stuck.

Now for the dumb question. Where is it located at and how do I gain access to it and fix it?? Is it in the trunk with the pump? Or is it under the dash driver or passenger side?

Got under the dash on the passenger side and all said valves seem to be working. Still haven't got to the driver side maybe that be where the said valve is.

Duo valve is in the engine bay passenger side very near the firewall where your vaccuum switchover valve is. looks like a pair of D batteries and has some hoses coming into the bottom of it. Look opposite side from your fuses/relay.

I know exactly where those d-cell looking critters are!! I'll give them a tap tap when I get off work. Maybe that will free those puppies up!! Thanks a ton! !!!!!!!!!

Well no luck on the tap tap. Still had hot air on both sides of the exhaust vents driver and passenger side. Even pulled the d-cell cylinoids off, and reassembled. Now Unplugged the d-cell noids and the air is cooler out of the vents, but just not cold enough. Sooo the driver side will be inspected for proper valve operation. Sorry Strict I tried the duo valve first!!

Now upon further reading and searching thru other sites I will be completely break apart the duo valve later today. I'll remove the plunger assemblies and the big flat gasket holding them in. As this was not done the first time i will also check for continuity in each coil to make sure no breakage in coil winding. If this doent help i will just disconnect the power wire to the secondary water pump supplying water to said duo valve, and leave the valve disconneted also. And try again. Heat is not needed now just the coolness of the ac. hehe. Thanks all
