Looking at getting a mold made for DTM replica body kit. Will include front and rear bumpers, front and rear flares/fenders, rear wing, side skirts. Estimated cost will be between 3 & 5k, any interest?

How close to the actual DTM car will your kit be? I am about to start cutting my c230 up and replicate the DTM D2 Privat car of Schneiders only with a LS2/T56 drivetrain.

Was just going to use fibreglass as i plan on tracking the car, so smashed panels will come quite often. fuck replacing CF every second week (prob do rear wing, bonnet and boot in CF)

I wont be doing it myself, having a shop look into it when i get back form Europe, which is in two months. But hopefully they'll let me help out on my off days (I'm working shift)

It will be costing me about $10k for the first one, so i was thinking of making a few more while the moulds will be there...

That'd be awesome. I'm sure your aware that its just been rebuilt yeah?

The Privat car would be the model on which it'll be base (although they're all virtually identical), think ill get an alternative front bumper made for the street too

what will this include? im guessing, bumpers, side skirts, fenders, wing? if the price is stupid i would be interesting in getting one. I was thinking of doing a sort of pseudo-black series and the dtm would work.

Agreed, you need the go before the show. but anyone who wanted to do a balls to the wall build who already has a v8 swapped in or has a turbo then this kit would be a good compliment. something like like a poor man's clk dtm.

You've got to be alittle careful with flared gaurds and widebodys,Im sure you've all seen the fails!.

Each to there own ,just try not to loose some of the key lines which make the 202 such a nice shape!.

This is debatable..

Can't get em in the US, for now anyways. They will be import exempt in a few years.

I was gutted when I didnt see an evo1 in the mercedes museum, I walked outside and gazed into the employee carpark,at first I thought ..that looks like a regular cossy..but as i got closer I just had put the omg face on.... Thanks to that guy the trip was well worth it!.

They are exempt here for two reasons, for being made in LHD only, and they are over 20 years only. I believe a collector here has one but its only a rumour.

I'd possibly prefer a tidy 16v 2.5 with an evo 1 kit ( so its RHD) at least I wouldnt feel guilty modifing it ^^.

I'll never get why they didn't originally send some of these to the US (the Evo). I'd love that thing.

Check the 190e Rev Forums I recall seeing somone on there making a replica kit to add to the 16v aka cosworth kit, which is essentially what the Evo kit is plus the evo add ons.

Is that a prior design mit tuv bodykit I see on ur turbo 202 link ;)

my guess is that they made so few of them that the mercedes fans back home more than filled all of the orders. clean 2.5-16s are easy to find in europe so when they reach the 25 year mark I'm getting one for personal use.

That kit is god awful ugly. I was refering to having a kit that looks more like the 190 Evo1 kit Pagz posted pics of. Do they make a w202 kit like that w201 kit?

I also do not completely like the style of overall kit but I do for the bumper because it shows close match to the race car.

That is me. I already bought the front bumper from PSG and it is on the way to me and I will combine the EVO I flares to make the complete kit for W202.

I also have another idea of having 190E EVOII kit without wing and install onto the W202 too as another guy who runs a project car likes the curve and style of EVO II with some changes.

Best regards,

Ake
