if a forum mod wants to put the pictures in the right form go ahead im on my phone and count figure out how to do it untill i get on my computer..but anyways so heres the deal. been looking for a c43 of clk for a wile now and there so far away. then low and behold i remember talking to a guy about 5 months ago that had a c36 that he wanted to sell. at the time he wanted i think 4500 or 5k i dont remember. last night i remembered his number, texted him and he has it still! he said he "needs" to sell it so maybe i can get it a grand cheaper than he wants it for. looks like it has newer amg wheels too. not sure if i like how they look on an older body but they look kind of expensive.. looks great except for 2 or 3 paint areas and the headliner is falling. the paint im not worried to much about because my girlfriends dad knows a guy that works at a nappa and spot painted half her car for 400 and it looks amazing. im worried about the headliner. the car is in knoxville, 45 minutes away from me. so this is too good to be true lol im going wensday to drive it and as long as everything is good and i can get some input on the headliner ill be getting it. heres some pics, its a 96 with 140k on the clock.. my question is does anyone know how much it would be to fix and what kind of place does this kind of thing. in the pictures you will see the 2 paint spots wich im not worried about, but when zoomed in on the hood one it looks like a bit of rust?=( idk but then the interior is clean and so is the engine. then there is the headliner one.

drivers door looks painted, so are the handles. just look out for signs of an accident, ie painted panels bumpers ect. sweet car otherwise. and any auto upholstery shop can fix a headliner no problem

Yea I noticed the door handles. Headlight wipers are painted as well. I'll check on Tue drivers door. And car fax it first. Thanks for the input too. Anything I should look for problem wise? Like I know 95s have the harness and headgasket problem but does 96 have them too?

Must be a late production 96', I thought 97's and newer had the digital climate control?
Otherwise doesn't seem like too bad of a deal considering the miles. I would pick it up if hes willing to work on the price, my C36 is by far the most legit/reliable car I've owned, and I beat the piss out of it. Just keep up with maintenance and it will provide you with many miles...
I got my 97 C36 a few years back for $3500 and it did have some cosmetic issues, nothing major though and was mechanically sound.
