So I bought my C36 2/3 months ago and it needed brakes back then, so I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the parts.

Balo Front Rotors...Meyle Rears...Akebono Euro Ceramics all the way around...

Everything ended up costing me $235 dollars with FCP's 10% sale and some phone haggling. Free shipping as well

Some last minute research showed that the 96/97 C36's use the Akebono EUR561's and not the EUR689's as listed on alot of part places including FCP. Akebono had some issues and messed up in their catalogue.

What do you guys think? Ill post some pics when I do the work. And let you know the results (anything would be better than where my brakes are at now lol)

Gold Calipers...yay or nay? The G2 caliper paint is amazing

Fronts are done! Rears gave me a problem though, so they will have to wait. Had to order a new hardware kit for the rear calipers as the pins were too rusty to take out/reuse. Just ordered those parts. Just driving it with the fronts replaced made a huge difference in pedal feel and braking performance. I will report back when the rears are done as well, as they were in pretty bad shape.

Can you please take some pictures of how to remove the rear rotors. I don't know if the c36 has the same rotor removal as a c280 I6 but couldn't remove my rear rotors. I tried twice and couldn't some say you have to look for a star screw but to release your e brake but I can't find it. So please since you are doing yours take some pictures.

theres 1 bolt (mine was standard hex) in the rear rotor (look at the picture of my rotors above. The caliper needs to be removed before you can remove the rotor as well. I will be completing the rears this week. I had a C280 before and did the brakes but I dont remember running into any problems taking the rotors off or messing with the e brake. Regardless, the e brake hardware is located under the rear seat. not sure how to release it but maybe by playing around with it you can figure it out. But before you do that take calipers of and remove that rotor bolt i described.

@the game: also after doing the rears you need to whack the rear rotor with a mallet, it gets seized to the hub. that might be where your problem was.
