Need Paint Code help please!

I just purchased a 1998 C230, and want to pick up some touch up paint for it. I've looked in all the places suggested on the Forums for the paint code, but I can't find anything definitive on the car. It's a dark grey..hopefully you can see in the attached photo. I'm thinking that it might be 721, but am hoping for a 2nd opinion.

This photo is of the plate just in front of the radiator.

Hey hvmercy your color code "040" is "onyx black" Johnny's color code is "721" the chart says "moonstone grey metallic" so going by Johnny's paint code of "721" and the picture that he posted, I think his car is more of a silver color than black...just my two cents??? Johnny I would call the dealership just to make sure your code is "721" (below is just and example)

Thanks very much for all the replies! It's definitely not Onyx Black. It's a Dark Grey, as the photo shows, so I will go to the dealer to double check. I want to order a spray can rather than a touch up pen, but not sure if the dealer can supply that.

A lot of local automotive paint stores can put any kind of paint that you want into a can as well. I got a can of Diamont 149 white for about $30 here.

For some reason I vaguely remember that paint (in cans or spray form) are not allowed to be shipped because of federal laws.
Paint is considered hazardous chemical.

What you're saying sounds right, but I've purchased engine paint in a spray can before off the internet and it got shipped to my house fairly quick, no problems. :confused:
