I want to buy a C36 , but im abit concerned about how much it will all cost (maintance/insurance/registration)
I am an apprentice mechanic earning $7 per hour
I live in Australia and it is illegal for me to drive a c36 due to the power to weight ratio,(Provisional licence) but I think that I should be ok as they wont know what kind of car it is anyway
anyway i have been recently looking at this one for 13k (I got enough savings at the moment)
Advice? suggestions?

Hey mate,

if i remember correctly that one ran out of rego, so maybe speak to him and make suer that it's all sorted.

I also have a 96 c36, im in perth

Biggest thing in these is the wiring and head gasket. Being an apprentice mech though you should have no problem doing these repairs.

I bought mine knowing it's head gasket is on it way out and the throttle body was fucked (wiring). With merc's over here it's all about getting the parts at the right place, shop around and you'll not pay too much for things. I even got my throttle body (2nd hand) out of the states for a 1/10 of the price they wanted at the wreckers here...

I was almost going to buy that car for a parts car/track c36 because it was so cheap

That car has been there for months
Infact, I remember looking at it last year I think
Something's not right about it
Have you contacted the seller?

That is a nice looking car, the dealer says it is reg till 2013, and it may have been sitting due to he won't sell unless he gets the 12+ he is asking for the car... you are a mechanic, go and take a look at the car you make the choice if it is worth your time.....ask if he will give you some sort of warrenty...30-60-90 day....if he does then I'd buy it. The color combination is awesome, white w/drak grey interior....I love that color combination.

It's a private sale, Doubt that any type of warranty will be offered
