Here it is. Starting with my old bosch sensor, compared to the generic one. Bosch old readings are post #1 with post #2=.262 milli ohm. #4&5=10.6, 1&5=.261milli ohm,1&4=.261, 2&5=1.638k, 2&4=1.627k. Now the new generic one reads 1&2 89.6k, 4&5=.4, 1&5=3.70k, 1&4=3.70k, 2&5=87.0k, 2&4=87.1k. Now my lil c280 will not idle. Are these #'s within spec?? When i say 1&4 it is the reading between the posts on the maf itself. Any input? Thanks all.

That new one seems like ALOT of resistance, what brand is it? Did you check the signal wire to the ecu for voltage when you rev it and see how much its putting out or if it changes?

Sorry to say it is of the bobo name brand also known as brand x. I just didn't have 200+ for a new bosch. Anyhow the car does start the first or second time. And the idle does seem to level out once the motor gets up to operating temp. Now if i know where the signal wire was located i most definately check the voltage on it. Later today i'm going to see about getting the motor to idle a little bit higher say from the 500 it hovers around to 650-725. Not for sure yet on how to do this put i will try adjusting the throttle cable. Thanks Again.

how does your car run with the old maf sensor? what makes you think the old maf is bad, what was the car doing? the generic air mas sensors are usualy junk. i wouldnt mess with anything else, you could just make things worse. if the maf is actually bad then i would look at getting a bosh one. do you know someone who is close to you that has a 202 that could lend you a known good maf?

Tunning in all. I do have to say that i did put the old maf back in and the car will idle with no ease. Now I am wanting to pull the old gas tank and give it a good cleaning! The lil c280 will start almost every time now almost everytime. Who knows how to pull the gas tank??? I am sure it involves dropping the drive shaft. If this is involved do i need to replace anything else?? I have only put 96 miles on this lil thing in a year!! I just want to get it right before it is driven. Sorry for the late reply. Just Been thinking of other possible problems. Still gonna pull the tank the fuel level has been giving me a fit anyhow. Thanks All. Be safe in all that you do.

Before I pull the tank I have a few other lil things I will try first. In doing some reading and video watching have begun to think it might be a possible o2 sensor ie smells like raw gas when car is running(rich not lean).Watched a video in youtube on how the check them for proper voltage gonna pull them out and use a propane torch to heat the tips and check for. 9v-1v dc. Also heard that some lacquer thinner in the gas tank would help clean the cats. Also from youtube scottysgarage suggested 1gallon on half a tank gonna try 1/2 gallon first. Will report back in soon.

Have you tried to see the voltage before and after the cat? Before should fluctuate high and low n after should be steady between 0 and 1v.. Also you can take a plug wire off and watch the cat to see if it turns cherry red, that wont ruin it but see if its working but dont do that one for more than like 20 seconds or so lol I hope this helps

Also if you try that hold it at about 2 grand to get it to work hard if it is working lol

I did the 1 gal of thinner. And i did run the car for 45 min at 2250rpm. Was not able to pull the o2 sensors. I'll have to prep for that job. I'll have to break the whole front exhaust loose, and i do not have the proper gaskets or bolts for replacements. With the following said i let the car run for over 2hr and it did not quit. And it did restart on the first try. Soo now narrowing things down a bit, sorry for the time frame of being so long. But the car does not seem to smell like it's running rich now. So maybe the thinner is working a little. Thanks a ton all. Not done yet!! Will be reporting in, in a couple of days.

If it smells rich you have a no spark misfire, and for the cat just look at it thats all lol If theres a miss if it smells rich it should be defenitely nice n red trying to get rid of the hc's
