Hi guys

Got an issue with my '95 C280 with m104, South African built.

The past couple of weeks I've noticed a misfire at 1/8th throttle, then it got worse with loss of power at around 3200rpm (it will continue till i hit 3600rpm, full throttle) , and again at 5000rpm.(it will keep on with the misfire/powerloss till 6000rpm, full throttle).

I have no idea where to start looking for the problem, i have changed spark plugs and checked all the wiring so far, but nothing has helped.
The car still has the original MAF (unplugged it while the car is running, no change) and has 220 000km on the odo

What next??

Kind regards

Deon

Plug wires are another good place to check.

What plugs did you use? This is important in the m104.

Unplugging the MAS doesn't test it very well. I know this through experience.

Most likely its the rubber boots for the intake manifold. often times they deteriorate and create a poor vacuum. Also check your ICV and MAF.
