So...I was wondering if anyone has has to replace there Idler arm? Price wise it seems more realistic to replace just the bushing,Mine is bad and was wondering how difficult it is to replace it,any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I just went out and looked at mine befroe giving you an answer. Yes you can just replace the bushing since it is not press fit. THere is a clamp type mounting setup that you just loosen the clamp bolt and tap out the old one. Make sure you measure the offset of the old bushing position so as to get the new one in the same position or you will experience bumpsteer. The idelr arm can bushing can be moved to level the drag link so as to have level steering geometry.

I will add a little info about myself just for reference, I am a chassis dynamics specialist but I am new to these cars. I just picked one up a few months ago and really will learn the car's particulars on a need to know basis and really have not tinkered with mine yet. Anyone have any info on performance parts or the actual quality of different parts manufaturers availiable (ie- what company to use, and what companies to stay away from) this info would be helpfull to bring a guy like me up to speed since I have absolutely zero trial and error experience with MBZ parts purchases.

yeah there's really not uch in the way of merc, let alone the little w202!

I have a few suspension pieces available (poly bushings, braces etc) but there's not much interest so it seems

Are you saying you machine parts and sell them?

If so then can I have a link to a website or catalogue?

Only buy Lemfoerder bushing parts for your car.
2nd place bushings are Febi Bilstein.

Is it this part seen in the picture?
