After some long and hard thought, and even after blacking out the super tacky "ebay sport grille" with the HUGE emblem in the center to try and make it look less "bling" and more aggressive....I decided it was time to chuck it....

...now I had actually purchased this AMG-style grille insert thingy off eBay right before I got the "sport logo grille", but at first and being a total n00b I didn't realize you had to reuse your stock grille bezel surround to make it fit.

Finally figuring it out, I took my stock grille I had on the car....removed the severely worn out egg crate insert, slowly convinced it in, screwed it down to the stainless bezel at the bottom, and took a hell of a lot of rubbing compound on the stainless steel surround to make it look showroom new.

I like it so much, I'm actually deciding to go back to running a brand new hood emblem I ordered today versus the delete cap I have on now.

Also trying to stick to the "Euro-Sport" look, I custom ordered a German EU plate. It's got a Mercedes Benz Euro Frame, "JENZ BENZ" lettering (Jenz is an acronym I made a long time ago for my last name, Jensen) and the registration seals I had them put on are from the Berlin reigon.

These are also better shots of the euro amber corners.

Do you guys think this is a big improvement over what I had before? Yes? No? I think it's personally more grown up and more euro like I want.

This was my old grille I blacked out with automotive outdoor vinyl blackout tape, for reference:

very clean ! i actually like the two piece projector headlights better than the one piece version they make for our cars. 202s are so sexy with no front plate.

I didn't want to say anything at first when you posted your car, but that blacked out grille with the mercedes star on it was hideous. I'm glad you came to your senses and got rid of it.

Often times with the w202, if you don't have that much money to mod it right, you might as well just leave it alone because modding for the sake of modding with cheap accessories will just make the car look tacky.

The new grille looks much better and i'm digging those ambers.

What headlights do you have? I like the looks of yopur sig pic with the white paint and the clear markers.

I also already have plans to use a euro plate up front - becausse I have the Brabus body kit and it has the indenture provision already molded into the front bumper. What I am doing though is just using the same plate # as my current California plate put onto a euro plate.

This is the exact look I am after but with white paint and clear markers854

I have the OEM one piece glass lens headlights with the non removable lens'. I retrofitted 6k DDM slim ballast HIDS and the clear corners are just depo brand. I have like three pair of them two clear, one amber.

redo!

Credit goes to a new hood emblem from the dealer and Plastidip in flat black.

Like or dislike?

I like it better than the emblem grill, but I prefer the chrome to the flat black.
I feel like "murdering" a car is just played out. It's been done millions of times on millions of vehicles. It's not for me.

With 3/4ths of a can left of black plastidip, I took the plunge and pulled off all the grey/chrome door/ rear front fender moldings, sanded with wet 300 grit for adhesion, and painted them just now. I'm not sure how it will come out once it's installed...I'll post pics of the installed result in the morning.
