rear tail lights buring out

In my 94 280 the rear lights keep buring out and the light in the dash sometimes comes on as if it detects a burnt out light but their is none. I had the plate (so far only the drivers side) where the bulbs plug into replaced because the bulbs would literally melt into the connection. if anyone knows about either thing I would be greatful for your help

You may want to go to the dealer & get the right bulbs.
Mercedes's are VERY sensitive to this.;)

I agree with manny. I had the same exact problem. I finally went to the dealership and bought the bulbs there.....no problems since then. It's that special mercedes thang. :banana:

you may have two problems...you may have very cheap bulbs, or two different kind of bulbs, i bought one from a gasstation cause i was in a need when the store was closed, but it was not good quality
