no foward gears in my c280

Last Friday coming home from school my transmission started slipping really bad,when I got to a stop light and went to go,I had nothing. So now I had to go to my local pick a part and grab a trans,anyone have an idea of what could have caused,mind you it does have reverse and its a 722.424.

Have you checked the fluid level and condition? When my fluid was dirty the valves in the valve body would stick and I would lose all forward gears. I was able to limp my transmission along for another 30k miles before the clutches ultimately failed.

Yes.That was one of the first things I checked when it went out on me.

Well an update on my trans. I had found a rod or pin in my pan. So I just bought another tranny from my local pull a part and put it in last night with help from Mike who is also a club202 member. Now my car is back up and running and couldn't be happier.

Yeah I know, it just bangs to hard and still the shifts seem to wait to long. If I have to I will go to a transmission shop to get it checked out.

I think I know my problem,I believe its the vacuum modulator so I'm going to change it out on Friday.
