Well, it sure came apart easier than it went back together. The good news is that it is done and aside from sport door handles this should be it for changes to this old C280. Just to see how far it has come here is a picture of it when I first got it

And after yesterday's work that ended pretty late last night (why projects always end at night is beyond me). I installed a full C36 body kit inclusive of the seals that go under the edge of each door and all body side moldings. After the body kit was installed the 17" rims looked out of place so I took the opportunity to swap to the 18" monos before calling it a night.

Thanks for the compliments. The cost to paint the bumpers, side skirts and door moldings came out to $1600. I installed everything myself so just a days labor for me there. The mounting hardware came out to almost $200 as there are two "grommets" for lack of a better word that are needed that are AMG specific...yup the dreaded part number that starts with HWA. The nice thing is not one hole needed to be drilled...the car was completely predrilled for all the mounting points. The front bumper was the difficult part of the install due to the brake ducts interfering with the driving lights. Aside from that it was just busy work.

man I looks beautiful you have done a great job. Did you have to do any modifications to the front and rear bumper or did fit right in? I have though alot of getting a duraflex c36 bumper but I'm afraid it would need to much modifications to put together. by the way did u remove the resonator on the c280 because it sounds awesome with the c36 muffler

Thanks for the compliments. I am pleased at how everything came together. The rear bumper simply bolted on with no modification. For the front the brake ducts point right at the back of the driving lights so I removed them and also had to modify the air scoop on the passenger side. There are brake ducts specific to the C36 but haven't looked into retrofitting those. My kit is a real AMG kit with all the support brackets and supports. I'm not sure how the duraflex parts attach to the car so i can't comment on that but the AMG covers/skins do need some specific support to work. I have the left the C36 exhaust (cat back) as it came with resonator installed. I like the tone and even as is rattles the pictures on the walls when my wife pulls in the garage.

As luck would have it I might have to get thicker spingpads in front as I can't clear my driveway I have #2's now so I might try #3's. I hope I don't have to go to the #4's.
