Hey guys, I am brand new to the Mercedes world. Just picked up a c220 a week ago for a daily. I ran into an issue today, went to leave work at it won't start at all. I have power so battery is fine. When turning key I get nothing doesn't even sound like it is cranking. I am pretty sure it is the starter, but I have no clue where to even locate the damn thing lol! I searched all over with no luck. Please any help will be appreciated.

It could be the alarm/immobilizer too. Turn it on and then off again to see if it makes a difference. If I accidentally hit the button, my car does the same thing when I go to start it. No crank, no sound etc.

I am doubtful it is your starter. But I could be wrong. If you have a bad starter when you turn the key to start the car, you will hear a click ever so lightly along with a buzzing sound coming from your fuel pump.
But in case it is the starter here is a DIY link i discovered.

Keep us posted.

Thanks for the input! This car only came with the spare and valay key. It didn't have the knife key with the alarm. Is there any way to check alarm without the key fob?

Yeah, it ended up just being the starter.

Ok, so my 99 C230 is doing something similar to this, we changed the starter, and even with the booster pack on the battery, which is showing 12.2 volts, so it should be plenty of juice.. all I get is a click.. nothing more.. im thinking maybe a bad ground? I put it in neutral, thinking maybe safety switch.. nothing.. a friend suggested the possibility of the super charger being locked up, but I put a ratchet and socket on the alternator nut and everything turned over fine.. so the Immobilizer? where is the button for that.. the last time it ran my step son turned it around in the driveway, im wondering if he possibly hit it when he got out.. (btw, im new to benz, but not to cars) Thanks

Guess you can start by cleaning both battery cables and the ground.
